Although we met some obstacle along the way, still we manage to make it through to today. even though at the start we still don't know each other, but yea we still manage to work well together. well done and thank you, my group members. (:

26 march

Finally after many days of editing and animation, our video is done.
Really thanks Huiyu for helping up so much while i'm rushing for my Design History and culture.

Two months of striving hard together, going through everything. After all, it's not easy. Finally tomorrow going to mark the end of everything. Even though this two months really stressed us a lot, but we still do have fun throughout the whole production.

tomorrow will be the screening of our film, hope everything will go smoothly ! (:
this two months would definitely be a memorable one.

26th March 2009

The last post I dedicate to this blog.
Rushed out the subtitles for the video yesterday. Music went wrong and subtitles disappeared. Guess working for me in the nights. Went back to school, edited the mistakes. Printed out the CD cover rather last minute. Managed to hand in the CD in time.
Everything went on smoothly for today's submission.

Finish this very last post. Duplicate it on soft copy. And we are ready for tomorrow's screening.

21th March 2009

A surprising headlines caught my eye on Friday, while I was reading the newspaper on life of ours.
"Technology caught in act."
Finally the horrible serial killer was sent back to jail. Feeling safe and secure, after changing as much as possible for the editing, most of the animation was completed. We finished the photo shoot for the introduction. However, Rizal decides to add in a video while introducing editing in Video Fundamentals and uses voice over for it. Thus the video has to be re-edited. After that, we tried importing the new layer.
Then we realize a copy cat killer was on the act.
The animation was gone. However, copy cat killer still has flaws in his plans. We tried again and it worked well.
We are left with subtitles, music, bits of animation, voice over, visuals and Cd cover.

17th apr 2009

Many days of staying in front of the computer, doing editing again and again for the whole full day. Making control + S your best friend is a really important part for editing. Trying very hard to make sure the video is within 9minutes and ensure that the video does not lose out any important scenes.

After many tries, i have to admit that the video does not look like what i have expected in the first place anymore. Now the fear is that there might be no enough time for the animation and the credit part. We have done most of the editing already, now left with the visuals, sound effect, animation and subtitles. And we are left with one week to do all these.

We have our Interim two today. We showed what we have done already to the class. Indeed, the sound was the biggest problem. Background sound cover most of our voices which is really bad and even to the extend that we have to re shoot. We now considering to use audacity to remove the background sound and we really hope it do work. But is it impossible to use audacity to edit Video's audio?

I'm still not satisfied with some part. Due to too many cutting scenes, the introduction part look quite unnatural. But we also need to consider about the time limit and this really stress us a lot.
One week more. It's just too short for us.

We are still gathering all our images and photos of our assignment, finding the sound effect to put in our video, and we still need to wait for the editing to be done completely and then we can move on to the animation part.

oh anyway, we are really busy and kind of neglected our project blog. D:
Thanks Huiyu for helping us to post and keep this blog alive! (:

JUST ONE WEEK MORE !
ALL THE BEST (:

13th March 2009

After the stroll just outside gate of hell, even a tinge of the serial killer send shiver from hair to toe nails. I guess our security wasn't tight enough. It escaped from prison and strikes again.
Our finally reimported footage was working well, till we realize its in widescreen. Much of the video was cropped as we used standard while editing. Luckily, we dodge fast enough. The cut wasn't deep. Doctor said a few needles will do the job. Thus, poor us have to go through all the pain and reimport the clips again in standard format. Eventually, exporting it was rather fast compare to the previous. When we got back from the consultation it was all ready. However, the cut teared. Wahidah said it was rather boring if its just like this, so we intend to add lots of visuals. While for the silhouette clip of me talking has been adjusted, members did not want to reshoot as it was troublesome. Same goes with the too long winded portion. It will be left untouched, for only me cannot do much. After much persuasion, I decide to leave the cut to rot and heart to shatter. Thus, we accepted whatever it is.
Then, we get back to edit again. Nothing went wrong. Till, a mysterious box pop out in the left top corner of the screen. Its the hint from the killer. My fingers automatically saved the project.
The next second I know, the screen blacked out. Fortunately I caught the hint. Nothing was lost.
We continued to fight again, most of the editing was done. Now, we are left with the subtitles, animation, music and visuals. Unfortunately, the killer was still free. Thus, we have to be extra careful.

Our wisdom reported to us, that we are at high risk of instant heart attack after the misfortune. Shrugging was the last move I did when paramedics left us helpless. Footage cannot be edited in Premiere Pro after we had transfer it from After Effects. Missing folders of information could not be found. Computers cannot read the projects format. Files are too huge to be transfer through thumb drives. Most of our hard disk cannot connect to Windows. There only a few of them that can work. Our camera cannot connect to Final Cut Pro. No matter how many times, how many alternatives these data won't link and make the rest go working. Even doctors are at their wits.
After an injection of insulin, the exported AVI format gave us hope. It reacts. But what we edited previously in After Effects wasn't what we wanted. So the one-piece footage is somehow useless. Adrenaline continues flowing. We freaked out. Moreover, everyone was squeezing into one ambulance. Trying to import whatever they took, but cables and ports complicate matters. They needed my laptop and I know its a must to help. Just another few drops of the hormone will leave us, eyes shut.
Evidence pointed out that technology is the killer. At then, it must be happy. Yet, just before our heavy eyelids come together, we decide to make the last struggle.
Reimport every footage all over again. Re-choose. Re-arrange. Re-edit. Basically re-do.
We did everything we could. After importing, we decide to export it to quicktime which took very long. Long enough for me to carry it home, switched on. As soon as it completed, we are all relieved. Now, technology being handcuffed, can no longer smile.
We are left with editing, animation, visuals, music and subtitles.
